after herculean effort we have finally managed to reform The Algarveans Theatre Group – or to give it it’s new official name –
“The Acting Algarveans AngloLuso Association of Experimental Theatre “

We have a new constitution, new statutes, newly elected officers and direction committee, new bank account, and we can finally enter into a legal contract with the camâra to perform shows at the Carlos do Carmo auditorium and receive a subsidy for doing so.
We also have a fabulous rehearsal space where we can perform small plays, hold social events and run workshops – the Uniao Juventude de Sesmarias – which we affectionately call the “Little Theatre”
Membership is €15 for single and €20 for a family membership which includes 2 children up to the age of 18.

Tuesday 4th April at 19.15 – Singing workshop delivered by musical director Shirley Delvin. Drinks available before and after for mingle. Shirley is also planning to form The Algarveans’ choir on Tuesday evenings starting on April 18th from 18:30 – 20:00. More info to follow! Thursday 6th April at 19:30 – Acting workshop for all, especially newcomers, inexperienced actors and people wanting to take part in an event at UJS in June. Delivered by Andy Arkle and Jenni Bekker. Thursday 18th May – auditions 1 for – a “Murder Mystery, Interactive, Event” to be directed by Andy Arkle and assisted by Jenni Bekker. The “event” will take place on Thursday 15th June. This is intended for newbies, actors with less experience or those who prefer a script rather than a prompt.

Wine Tasting Evening
Tentatively planned for Thursday May 11th. To be confirmed so watch this space.
